Asus a8n-sli deluxe restarting problem
hello i very good friend of mine who is very ill (needs a kidney transplat asap)
got a monster of a machine built for him for christmas the spec is as followsAMD 64 3500+ ASUS A8N-SLI DELUXE SOCKET 939 2GB DDR 400 MEMORY(4 * 512) Gigabyte 3d-aurora case MAXTOR HD SERIAL 300GB UDMA 150 7200 16MB 64-Bit Windows XP-PRO 256MB RADEON X800GT EVO TIDE WATER G/CARD runs nice till you go online the after a few mins it restarts i have put in a new 600w artec psu reinstalled win xp 3 times however nothing seems to work any ideas anything will help |

It only re-boots when you are online ? How are you connected to the internet ?
Have you checked the event logs to see if it gives out any information on what happened ? |

Go into System Properties, Advanced tab, Startup and Recovery settings, and uncheck the Automatically Restart box.
This will enable the BSOD and give you half an idea of what is going wrong. My bet is there is a driver conflict. Last time I had a problem similar to yours, it was due to a video driver that didn't like changing pages.

I don't know for what do you use it when you're not online... But if the main use is being online, (for example playing online games), you would perhaps also like to check how the temperatures evolve...

Upgrade the drivers for your graphics card to the latest version, you will get these from the vendors website.

Glad you got it sorted.
Could be a conflict between the graphics card and the 64-bit XP, causing the system to reboot. |
