ASUS Hyperpath
I've just been wondering, if anyone can tell me, What exactly does ASUS Hyperpath do to Intel 865PE boards? I know other technologies such as Intel P.A.T. (Performance Acceleration Technology) overclock the CPU by a small amount when under heavy load.
Can anyone tell me what ASUS Hyperpath does to increase performance? Intel Pentium 4E 3.00GHz ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Wireless Edition 512MB Kingmax DDR400 Gigabyte Radeon 9200 |

ASUS Hyperpath is just their name for Intel's PAT, which asus has activated on 865 chipset mobos.
According to Intel, what PAT does is optimize the memory access pathway, reducing the latency of the memory and letting the cpu work more efficiently (its not an OC, its a tweak in the pathway itself). However, some other reviews have suggested that actually PAT is the normal pathway, and the 865 chipset slows things down for some undetermined reason. Either way, the net result is that 875 is faster than 865 unless PAT is activated on the 865. HTH
