asus k8n ethernet controller+dvd problem
hi guys,
i have just installed a new asus k8n mobo. i have two major problems:
1. neither my dvd-rom or my dvd-rw are recognised in " my computer". i tried changing cables and managed to get one of the drives appearing but not working. it is once again not appearing now. curiously the floppy drive appears although it isn't connected!!!
2. the ethernet controller is not working. i am unable to uninstall/re-install/up-date or roll back drivers.."cannot install this hardware etc.....an error accurred during the installation of the device. the name is already in use as either a service name or a service device name".
obviously i have been unable to use the installation cd. i have downloaded the latest drivers from asus but nothing seems to be helping.
any advice would be greatly appreciated.
