Asus P5GDC-V Deluxe, RAM Problems.

Hi, I bought a new comp some months ago and i decided i hade to get some more RAM Memory.

I hade a Kingston 512mb before, and bought another one, kinda same one they were both ddr2.

Anyway when i put those two in togheter and start the comp, the screens is just black and Windows XP isnt Loading.

When i try to have them in seperatly the comp works fine, then i decided to buy one 1gb ram and it works to.

It just seems i cant have in more then 1 ram memory at the same time, still i have 6 slots?

Thanks.

Hi Paranoja and welcome to Dev Shed.

When you say both sticks were kinda the same, did you check that both were the same ? If the sticks are incompatible with each other then it won't boot. Double check that if they are both DDR2, then both sticks have been inserted into DDR2 slots.

The mobo should take more than one stick.

Does he have the same motherboard ? From what I can tell, that motherboard has 6 RAM slots. Have you checked the manual to check these are being inserted into the correct slots ? Have you checked your BIOS ?

What makes you think there is something wrong with your BIOS, are there other problems with it ??

Have you tried updating your BIOS ?
