Sorry for trying to stealing free advice on first post, will try to make it up later.
Inserted new bios, booted, and nothing. - old bios still boots until error message - maker insists it's the correct bios for board - have defaulted CMOS/bios, jumped and battery charge down pulling hair out and using old laptop with broken keys :-| |

What error? What board? Are you sure you flashed the BIOS correctly? Need more details.
