boot problems
computer not booting
I load it up it detect drives ok floppy drive does not work error 40 so I disconnected it after the hard disk & cdrom are detected the computer freezes won't even boot from cd rom --

floppy drive - error 40
Hi I am building a new computer with a asus a7n98-8 board and a amd 2500 chip. I have a similair problem. After I run bios it recognises the hd and the cdrom drive, but it says there is an error with the floppy = error 40. I disconnected, reconnect, abd bought new floppy and lead, no dice, it sill gets to that part, then it refuses to go on. I try to boot from the CD rom, but it seems it cant do that either, saying it cant read from that drive, although it recognises the CD rom as being present. Powersupply is 500 so there is no probs with the supply. The beep beeps, as it normally would on startup, the cd rom lights whir, but the floppy light does not come on.
Hope someone can help me Papa
