Extremely speaking, there is no best motherboard for everyone. Each might have merits and demerits or defects and superiority. For simple instance, a motherboard has on-board sound, lan, video, etc. it is simple i.e. no incompatibility and the best for one who don't mind quality, even if it is somewhat expensive.
What's important is How you can make use of it. In addition, the newest M/B is the best generally, but it is not estimated by all user or all environs yet. It is likely to happen that you can't use some device which you want to use. And this is unpredictable. That's why here is a lot of questions that you can see now. |

Abit is a good company. However, I personally wouldn't get the VIA chipset. Check out the IS7 in its various versions on newegg. It costs a bit more, but thats what I run, and am very happy.

would the motherboard fit fine in this case?
http://www.xpcgear.com/xbladesilver.html its a mid-case. Whats the diff btw midcase and full tower. Do i really need a full tower? Or can i do everythign with a mid case? Is this case good? |

It will fit. FYI: To tell if a board will fit in a case, look at the "form factor". In this case, the board and case are ATX form factor, which is the most common. A full tower case is bigger than a mid-tower case, with more room for drives and such. You will easily get by with a mid tower case, with room to spare. Full towers are used more for servers and such.
