Computer does not boot!Monitor goes blank!

Hello ou there...

One year now i have bought a PC with:

Intel P4 2,4Ghz
P4SDX motherboard
GeForce 4 Ti4200 (chaintech)
512 SDRAM
Onboard Audio Card
Maxtor 80GB HDD
.....

It was working fine until yesterday i went out for a walk (The PC remained switched on) and when i came back home i saw the screensaver 's picture frozen on my monitor!!! I tried to boot the machine.
The first and the second time it started booting, it showed the mainboard info, counted the memory and just before scanning for drives the booting procedure stoped and the machine get stacked! This happened twice...
Then every time i tried to boot, nothing happens. I get no signal at my monitor (it remains black) BUT the HDD the DVD and the CD-Recorder, The video card seem to work. They receive power...
No error beeps, nothing showning something is wrong...

I tested, on another machine, every peripheral device and PCI/AGP card and everything works fine. The memory is still working also...
I unpluged all devices EVEN the MEMORY from my PC and no error beep codes happened...I also reset my CMOS bios chips.

It seems that my mb is dead...Any other suggestions or ideas what is going on?

Thanks alot...thanasis

I have the same problem on my "other" PC. I can boot mine into safe mode, can you? At 640x480 with 16 colors it works fine.

Boot problems

I have the same problem. I've got a chaintech zenith 9CJS motherboard and it displays error code '25' but the manual does not explain what this means. I think it may be the videocard that's knackered but am waiting for chaintech to tell me what the code means. Will let you know.

knackered video card

Have isolated the problem and it is the videocard. Gives me an excuse to buy a better one anyway! I have seen a lot of similar posts on the web and the cause is either motherboard, vga card, memory or processor.
