Computer does not start up...no BIOS beep
Hi,
I have searched for an answer on this forum, but the results have been inconclusive... Basically i left my computer running in my room...then when i came back it had restarted itself...but wasnt doing anything...after retrying numerous times no luck....it turns on but no BIOS beep no screen output...noting! have reset CMOS by changing jumper and removing battery...how long should i remove the battery for? it says 10 seconds but other forums say 12 hours?? spec: ASUS P5W64 PRO E660 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo 2GB crosair 800mhz 5-5-5-12 i think 2 x ATI radon x1950 crossfire graphics.... 520Watt Crosair Power Supply the system IS ONLY 2 DAYS OLD!! overclocked by 20% ...no problems....reduced it back to 5%....no problems....2 hours later..the problems began any help would be greatly appreciated... thanks PS monitors and graphics are fine...fairly certain RAM is fine...all power cables are in place...leaves me with mobo and CPU which i hope isnt damaged as a result of OC? |

Hi gtc and welcome to Dev Shed.
Can you try re-seating your CPU for me and let me know if you are still having the same problem? As for your CMOS battery, I usually remove it for a few minutes, that's long enough - no need to remove it for 12 hours! To be honest though, on first thoughts, it sounds like your CPU has failed.
