Computer doesn't boot, Monitor is blank
Hey I have an asus Sk8n mobo, 1 gig registered ram, geforce 6800gt, amd fx-53 processor, and a thermaltake purepower 480 watt psu. All of this stuff has been working correctly. But when I go to fire up the computer now I get no display on monitor, at all. I opened it up and all of the fans and led lights turn on when I hit the power button, including the fan on the video card. But the DVD-Rom and floppy drives don't seem to be getting power as well as the hard drive. The dvd-rom won't open or close and the power light doesn't come on. I have removed the hard drive and dvd-rom and they work fine on a different system. The green light on the mobo for power is also on. Any ideas? I also recently updated the bios on the mobo but it has started up correctly several times with the new bios and I have had no problems until now.

Make sure all the cables are connected firmly. Try a new PSU, if some components don't seem to be getting power, that could be the problem. Try another video card to, as a check.

Yea try unplugging/taking a few devices out of your pc. This should reduce the load on the psu.
