Computer Not Powering Up

Hi, i recently bought a new case but when i moved everything it stopped working. the power supply is doing something because the DIMM LED is on. I moved the motherboard onto a peice of cardboard and had just the memory and video card in and it still wouldn't start.

Specs:
Gigabyte 7dxe motherboard
330 w enermax power supply
1800+ Athlon xp

any help would be appreciated, i am at my wits end on this one...

Edit: ive noticed this dimm led gets brighter or dimmer everytime i start it, usually dimmer. Could this be a psu problem? I have another power supply too but it does the same thing tho. maybe its in the motherboard or connection? dunno

Did you insert the processor properly? The DIMM leds are on??? *confused*... I have never seen any DIMM lights!

Umm.... I don't think the cardboard thing was a good idea !!! Did you handle the parts with care? You can pass out I think 20kV of static electricity without even knowing it, so this is more than enough to mess up a chip on the motherboard or whatever.

Also give out more details on the parts... Try RAM from another computer (if available)... unplug everything on the new motherboard and restart wiring all the little annoying things and make sure the plugs are plugged the right way!!! I think inversing polarity would really make a difference... or connecting wires to devices backwards! (I always got a floppy disk error until I realized the plug was backwards!)
Usually black or white is "GROUND" in the wiring diagrams of the motherboard book.

I would do the testing in the case w/ the minimum necessary hardware attached, since that's how it will actually be installed.
Follow standard troubleshooting proceedures, gt3_dk has given some, and this type of question has been addressed numerous times in the forums.
Also, give more info on your setup, and exactly what happens when you try to power up (anything spin, beep, etc)

Just bought two sticks of Corsair PC3200XLPRO, and yes there are LEDs up and down the sticks showing activity...quite the christmas tree!
