I swapped the mobo today and no dice. Still no post...
Well the psu still powers everything...so that leaves the cpu?
Is it even possible to fry a cpu? I checked it out top to bottom and it looks good to me. Does anyone know of a way to test it?

$300+ later, turns out to be the PSU. It provides the correct voltages but I suspect the amps might be low.
Ah well, I guess it doesn't hurt to pick up some new socket 939 hardware, considering how difficult to find and expensive it is become.

Hi,

I know this thread is 2 years old but I'm experiencing the same issue. I had a socket 939 AMD X2. I had the same issues you were describing. Did buying a new system remedy your problem?

I built a whole new system also but I'm still getting the same issue.

Could it be a power outlet issue?
