EP-8RDA PRO problems booting up

I installed the EP-8RDA pro and attempted to turn it on. Everything went fine it went through the boot up process and my Windows XP logo flashed for about 2 seconds and disappeared it then went to a screen telling me something to the affect of the pc had not been shut down correctly and I had to make selections of either starting it in 'safe mode' or starting it in it's last known working state. When I make any of the selections it goes throught the same cycle. Can someone tell me what i've done wrong? I've unplugged and plugged everything back up & it still happens. Please give me some suggestions.

You replaced a motherboard and are trying to boot Windows? Sorry, bud, but it isn't likely to work very well, if at all.

Windows assumes that the motherboard is the same as when it was installed, so it will not autodetect the change and load the correct drivers. Your best bet would be to put the old board back in and back everything up so you can reinstall with the new board.

If you can't do that, then you might want ot get a Live Linux CD like Knoppix Live, which would allow you to access the drive and back all your stuff up.

You could try booting the XP CD and performing a repair install, but I don't know if it will detect and load the appropriate drivers for the new board.

So, in other words i'd have to get a new hard drive or format the one that I used with the other board?
