FIC AD11 Motherboard won't boot USB drive
I have created a bootable version of SystemRescueCD on a
SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2GB flash drive and have used it to boot
several machines. Unfortunately, it will not boot my FIC AD11
motherboard based system. The Award BIOS have the following
USB boot selections:
None of these settings recognize the Cruzer Micro. While the
BIOS version is the original, updates subsequent to it do not
mention anything about correcting a USB boot problem. Just
as well, I really don't want to flash a new BIOS.
As I mentioned above, I have used this device to boot other
machines. One in particular is a rather cheap PcChips board
which recognizes the USB drive if the boot BIOS setting is
USB-RMD-FDD. Other than that difference, I don't see why
my FIC AD11 will not work.
If anyone has experience with this MB or has a suggestion
to correct this, I would appreciate any input.

Thought somebody would have a suggestion, but apparently not. Finally found the
right Google search term and discovered the solution. Apparently older Award BIOS
don't boot USB devices with USB-HDD or USB-FDD unless thay are actual HD or floppy
devices. However, the trick is to use USB-ZIP and format the flash drive as a Zip
Thanks for all the help!
