Hi everyone, I just built my first pc using AMD 3000+ with ASUS K8N-E Deluxe motherboard. I installed Windows XP professional on it, everything seems fine untill I try to connect it to my cable modem. When I use ipconfig in command line, it just say 'Window IP Configuration', nothing else. I know the problem is not the cable I used to link the modem and my pc, since I tested it with my laptop, no problem there. And the ethernet indicate light on my pc did come on when I pluged in the ethernet cable. Is this a window xp configuration issue? or some problem with my mobo? thanks in advance for your help.

Turned out the network adaptor Window XP detected doesn't work, I have to install other network drives from ASUS.

Look around the asus website im sure you can find what you need the easiest way to fix problems is always update you should have no problems updating your chipset or mobo drivers its pretty easy and straight forward or mabey its windows try the network trouble shooter if asus isnt the problem
