Recently aquired this HP with the issue of "won't turn on". Of course I knew the DC Jack was the problem. Thing is that now after fixing the fractured solder joints the machine boots, at least visually and post test board, but there is no video from LCD or from external monitor. Does anyone have any insight. Does the video circuits get power from the DC jack? Since MB's for this thing are outragousely priced I want to investigate all suggestions.

Not sure what you're asking about the video getting power from the DC jack, when the pc is plugged in, everything is powered through the jack...
Do you know what happened to break the solders you repaired? It is possible there are other broken connections for power and/or video elsewhere on the motherboard and/or graphics chipset. Or the graphics might be broken or fried. If you can, I would open it up and start checking connections between the graphics and motherboard, and between the graphics chip and video outputs.
