If you have the mobo you posted, then they have given you pictures and a crystal clear explaination of what to do. If you still can't figure this out, you're going to have to take it to a pc shop, because this isn't going to get any simpler, short of having someone do it for you.

By "them" you mean the jumper for the fsb speed, I assume? Have you tried checking your processor speed with software other than what comes with windows, in case this is just a windows snafu? Make sure you have the latest bios for the board, there can be problems with older versions. Also, check the multiplier in the bios. If it says "11x100", change it to "11x166"

sounds like the clock speed is set to 100MHz in the bios instead of 166MHz - change it to 166 if your cpu is a 333MHz fsb Barton - basically half of the fsb of the cpu - so for 266 its 133 etc...
clock multiplier for a 2500 is 11.5 as far as i am aware - 166MHz * 11.5 = 1909MHZ or ~1.9GHz

i have an asus a78nx deluxe - there are only two settings for the fsb via a jumper and they are 200 only and 400/333/266 - the jumper is located just to the left of the chipset (heatsinked) if you take the cpu as being the top of the board - look at the site as the others said, the jumper info is there
i have a 3000+ which runs @ 2.166GHz - or 13.0 * 166MHz

afaik its the clock multiplier that you adjust if you want to overclock and kiss your processer/money behind - and you WILL fry your cpu unless you know what you are doing and can afford ridiculous cooling soultions - even then its pot luck, every cpu is different.

**********
multiplier is 11.0 NOT 11.5 as far as the below says, sorry

Thanks

I had the exact same problem. I just went to the BIOS and changed the CPU frequency to 166 (thanks to you guys). But I was just wondering if changing this actually changes the performance or if it simply just changes the number writen in the System Properties? Thanks again.

It changes performance, b/c it changes the speed the cpu is running at.
