Intel Mobo/proc power issue
I have d875PBZ intel mobo....3.2ghz proc w/HTT 800 bus 512kn l2 cache...550watt 12v power supply, geforce 6800 gt, sound blaster audigy2 ZS, gig of dual channel ram, IDE harddrive and dvd dual writer/re-writeable rom drive....
once everything is connected and i plug in the power supply, it begins to boot without me hitting the power switch...when i try the power switch nothing happens and the computer stays on, same with reset switch...the jumper settings are correct, i have tried it thousands of ways...the HDD led light comes on, and so does the power led light... Also nothing is sent to my monitor (phillips flatscreen if that matters)... The only way to cut off my computer is to unplug and same for turning it on....anyone have any ideas? thanks for any help GotSWAT |

hey GotSWAT, is this the other problem?
Hey GotSWAT, I see that you say you checked the connectors a thousand times, but did you put the reset jumper the oposite direction from the way the rest of the jumpers set? Every Intel spec sheet that I have found shows them with the #1 starting at jumper #7 on the board. Just a thought.
Also, when you returned the old board did they happen to know why the board did not want to send power through (if that is in fact what it was doing)? I ask because I bought my board in GA and live in CA now and most likely can not find the paperwork to save my life. Good luck with you new issue. Quote:

yeah i tried to move around the settings thinking it was printed wrong, but still nothing worked, but the hdd led that goes on the same pin group with the power an reset switch works just fine...
As for returning the mobo, they didnt ask or say much about it, and after they tested the processor i tried to get them to test the mobo, but they refused and said that it would cost me 100 bucks, i said forget it, ill just exchange the mobo...but when i spoke with the support from intel on the phone the guy who was helping me said that it was most likely a processor or mobo issue...maybe see if you can do a direct exchange with a store near you or maybe through intel themselves? good luck with that and let me know still if you get things working and ill keep this thread up to date with anything i can figure out |

http://www.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/asmo-na/eng/tech_reference/box_desktop/int_inst_info/dsk_tested_source_lists/35829.htm they sent a few other links for other things like memory and cards and stuff, if u need them just ask... let me know how things go... GotSWAT |
