Unhappy invalid copy message HELP PLZ

I just redid my computer with a new K8V-X motherboard, a athalon 64
CPU,
and a Radeon 9800 pro video card, after I installed all the new
components
I went to start up the computer and when it came on there was a series
of
constant beeps about 1 beep every 2 to 3 seconds and it just kept beep,
then the message came up that said "invalid copy, pree any key to
continue" so I pushed a key to continue and the message just popped up
again I have no idea what to do, any help would be appreciated.

Seeing it is a new board I would take back ASAP (well wait to see if anyone else follows up). I find longer you keep the harder time guys in store give you (like it is your fault motherboard/ram/cpu not working).

First off this is an upgrade, is your power supply decent make and 350 watts or higher? Could be you do not have enough juice for new system. Try pulling hard disk, cdrom, and all expansion cards except video. If your system boots further stripped down then is likely your power supply. However, if it still gives error it could be power supply (if you have decent make of power supply and is 350w or higher then that is unlikely).

You did not list buying new ram, if using ram from previous board make sure it will work in new board.

A few copy procedure on boot I could think of would be:

Save to disk. Ram saved to disk for power management and copied back to RAM when resume system (but would have had to have operating system installed to get into that state). The second copy process would be shadow rom (copy rom to ram for speed, as rom slower than ram). There is another copy process, but you should see aditional messages (that is for BIOS recovery using ASUS bios recovery disc/diskette).

Read this and you see what I mean about copy of rom to ram
http://de.shuttle.com/en/desktopdefault.aspx/tabid-124/156_read-2910/

I realize you do not have that Shuttle PC, but was first hit I got from google that showed me what I wanted to point out (the rom shadow copy process).

It is only copy message I could see you getting, and would likely be ram, rom, or motherboard issue. Could be a CPU issue, as the CPU is likely used to do the work of copying ROM to RAM. Could be a power supply issue as not enough power or bad power will make system flake out.

I recommend remove and reinstall all components (RAM, CPU, etc.) if not already done, and clear CMOS (but I would say to screw with as little as possible if new system).

Once again, maybe wait today/tomorrow to see if anyone else follows up, but I would say take system back ASAP so store does not try to pin it on you.

I will watch your post as I am interested in any other possible cause(s), and would appreciate you sent me an email if the issue is not faulty hardware. Well take back after you investigate power supply and ram, as if the hardware you bought is not the problem they likely bill you for testing or restocking fee.
