mobo i might upgrade to

i might get this mobo because i can still use the same exact ram and cpu config. as i use now but it gives me more of an upgradable mobo. my motherboard only supports 266fsb and pc2100 ram. tell me what you think.

It would allow faster ram and fsb, so it is more expandable. I would consider the Abit KV7 though. Its $11 more, but it adds SATA support, which will be good if you plan to get a new hdd sometime. The KT600 chipset is also better than the KT400

Additional note: You mention in another thread that you plan to OC your cpu. If that is the case, look at mobo's with the nForce2 chipset, the VIA chipsets don't OC as well.

alright karsh. thanks for the info. also is there any way you can help me through oc'ing my cpu. i used to have my friend do it until he fried my old cpu

Read up online, lots of tutorials and articles. DevHardware is helpful, Ars Technica has good theory stuff, AnandTech and [H]ard|OCP are other good resources. We can help if you run into problems.
