Motherboard comparison
Hey all, i need a little bit of help. I am building a computer for myself, and i wanted to know a few things about 2 different motherboards.... the socket A and the socket 754... Which one is better? or is this an obvious question? i was thinking of getting a amd athlon 64 processor to be used with a socket 754 but a friend told me i might be better off getting a socket A motherboard... is he right? or does the socket 754 outclass the socket A??

The athlon 64's are faster than the 32 bit athlon xp's. Thus, socket 754 is faster than socket a, because it has faster processors. Athlon 64's are more expensive though, so if you want the best performance at the lowest cost, go for a socket A. If you want the fastest you can get, get an athlon 64. (If you really have money to burn you could look at the fx-53 processor, which uses socket 939).
