Motherboard GA-8IRX
I have recently puchased a Intel P4 2.4 Ghz L2 512K cache. When I install it on my GA-8IRX motherboard and boot up I get 11 quick beeps and then continuos beeps. I have unplugged all cards and HD's and devices only the Video Card and RAM are installed.
Can anyone tell me what might be the problem. Thanks Last edited by samton99 : April 22nd, 2004 at 12:08 PM. |

find out what bios type/brand you have like Pheonix or Award. Theyl have a description of their beep codes on the internet.

I did. The motherboard bios is award and it seems that the beep sode means bad chache memory. does that mean the cache ont he CPU is no good? The CPU is brand new.

Im not sure, can you try a different cpu? As far as i know you can only get beep codes if the cpu is working. Maybe anyone else can help . . . ?
