motherboards

I would like to build up a computer myself, and now I am thinking of motherboards, could you tell me which one I should choose to buy ?
I dont know a thing about them, please help me...

pentium 4, I dont know how much money I will spend because I think I will have to wait for your introductions about the products and their prices (I am new to this buying.and.selling computer components), but of course cheap and good will always be the things to pioneer.

Abit mainboards are great u can pick one up at pcworld for 50 quid
