No boot
I have an Emachine T2615 after I shut it down the other day It will not boot up. The fans run mobo light works CD- Rom open and close but monitor blank. I here one beeb when I turn it on and the hard drive run a short time. Have replaced power supply and checked out hard drive and ram on other computer. Is this the Emachine dead mobo that I was cautioned about?
Thanks for any help, Bill |

Possibly, yes. The mobo may have fried or something. Since you have confirmed all other parts working, mobo is the only suspect remaining.
Can you test the processor somewhere else as well?

Hmm, have you tried changing the graphics card ? If the hd spins, fans are spinning and mobo lights are on, could just be a faulty card not showing anything on the monitor. Or, try another monitor from another machine. Best to exhaust all options first before changing the mobo.
