No boot no beeps no screen

Hi,

My computer won't boot, i guess.

Normaly after i turned on the pc's powerswitch the monitor comes out of it's stand-by position, and the pc gives 1 beep when the ram is found.

Now everything happens as usual, cpu-fan and all the lights work normaly, BUT my monitor won't 'wake up' and I get no beeps at all.

I once had this problem and when I took out the CMOS battery and replaced it after three or four minutes the pc worked as fine as ever. Now I did the same but the problem still excists.

I took out both 512Mb memory strips and after I turned it on he gave me some 'I have no memory beeps'. By putting in one or the other of the two strips the problem is there again.

Can someone help me with this PLEASE!!!

TIA, Frank

I would download and run memtest. It's possible that you have some error in your RAM (even though its working at the moment) and memtest will check that for you.
