Nothing displays on my monitor - brand new system!
Hi all I just found this website in desperate search of a solution to my nightmare. I just got a new computer for my birthday. i picked the parts from www.newegg.com and everything just got here (yesterday). I put it all together and put it in my previous raidmax atx mid tower case, hooked it all up all excited and... nothing showed on the monitor. i've tried everything, switching the memory around, putting in an older pci radeon 7000, plugging in a new monitor, unplugging everything but the mobo and video card, and taking out the battery and leaving it out for 10mins like the manual said to reset the cmos. i've done it all and it still doesn't work. i don't believe static is the problem, everytime i go to touch it i touch something metal. i eve took it all out and put it on top of a cardboard box and nothing changed. can you guys please help!

specs: (everything is brand new except for the hdds, hdd cooler, and dvd burner)

420 WATT PSU
GIGA-BYTE K8N PRO-SLI NFORCE 4
AMD ATHLON 64 3700+ 2.2GHZ (san diego)
1GB (2x 512MB) DUAL CHANNEL PC3200
NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600 GS 256MB

Does the machine try to boot ? Can you get into the BIOS ?

nope. nothing happens. the screen just stays blank and says "No Signal".

Can you see if any lights come on on the motherboard when you switch it on ? Can you hear the hard drive spinning ?

i have the same problem only different.
I have the same problem with one of my computers and i looked at all the other old post and other websites also and it seems to be only people that don't have the post beeps. I have the post beep but i do not get display either i tried disconnecting everything so I am assuming it's just the power supply and i am going to have to go get a new one. Any advice?? Also I just put my tower in the closet for a while not really messing with it and yesterday i went to turn it on and the monitor showed and everything except i wanted to see if it would boot properly again and it didn't -_-. please help!!!

Are any lights on your motherboard ? Do the drives sound like they are trying to spin ? Do you see anything on screen ?

Have you tried a different monitor incase that is the problem firstly before changing the garphics card?

i tried different monitors and then i took out my video card which is a 256 mb radeon and i used my default one and cleared cmos i've tried numerous things except lol getting another 240 watt power supply lol
