Optiplex 755 motherboard dead - CPU?

I was brought a Dell Optiplex 755 computer with an intel core2 vpro processor. Got a new power supply. All signs indicate that the motherboard is shot.

Is there anyway to test to see if the CPU is still OK? A motherboard for this computer is not cheap. I don't want to get one if the CPU is also bad. Thanks

While most Dell components were proprietary, for sure the CPU isn't one of those parts. You should be able to test it in any other board that supports that CPU. vPro may not work in another board, however.
