P4 3.0 Power Supply Requirements?
Hi,
Should I get a 300 watt power supply or do I need more to run the P4 3.0? Thanks. |

Get the best and most powerful PSU you can afford.

Check that the psu you get says that it supports p4. Shouldn't be much of a concern with new supplies, but if you're getting a used one or something, it could be an issue.
Basically, you need to realize that a bad psu could fry all the hardware in your box. Since your other post listed some impressive hardware, you won't want that to happen. A 300w supply might be enough, but it would be pretty marginal. I would recommend something more substantial, and only a good brand. http://www4.tomshardware.com/howto/20030609/index.html is a good review of some higher end psu's. Check it out. |

if there is no neons or anything in there it might be alright, but if there are neons, or a big case fan or two then u might wanna go for something a little more powerful
