New PC Build won't post...Help Pls
I am building with the following:
- Gigabyte EP45-DS3L ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 HD Sound GBLAN Motherboard
- Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB DDR2 2X2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-18 240PIN Memory Kit
- Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 Processor BX80571E7300 - 2.66GHz, 3MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB, Wolfdale-3M, Dual-Core, Retail, Socket 775, Processor with Fan
- Antec Sonata III Black ATX 16IN Mid Tower Quiet Case 3X5.25 2X3.5 4X3.5IN 500W 120MM Fan
So far it won't post. I hooked up motherboard with CPU just to test and it will start for about 10 seconds and then shuts down and then starts again for about 5-10 seconds and restarts again. I took the CPU to (Tiger Direct) to get it tested and they got it working, so I don't think it's a problem with the CPU. I tried using another power supply with the same results. Is the problem the motherboard or am I doing something wrong? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome to DevShed.
Yes, could be the mainboard.
Is this your first build?
Usually I can get things to go together and just "start", but sometimes you have to backtrack a bit. Strip it down to nothing more than the mainboard, processor, RAM and graphics card and see if you can get it to post. Make sure the RAM is in the proper slots; if it's dual-channel it might need to be in slots 1..3 or 2..4 and not side-by-side and make sure it's seated properly. Check your BIOS settings (if you get that far).
