PC doesn't boot

The power comes on and the light on the CDrom blinks on and off. The hard disk also comes on but there is no image on the monitor.
Please what can I do? Its a p4 1.8ghz processor, 256mbps RAM and p4 motherboad.

This could be anumber of problems. One common thing that causes that is bad ram. if you have another stick of ram try that in there. You should unhook everything except for the video card, the processor and the ram and see if it POSTs. You may have a bad CPU as well.
