Possible Bad Flash?

hey everyone! recently i flashed my bios on my asus P4P800-VM to upgrade it using the asus update utility. Everything went well, no errors or anything. then it told me to reboot and so i did. when it boots up, the bios screen comes up with errors saying "CMOS settings wrong" and "CMOS date/time not set". when i do change the settings, they don't save.

so anyway, it allows me to load the default settings and continue into windows. Windows is fine (except for the clock). I tried using the asus update utility to check my bios information but now it can't even recognize it. noticing this, i look for a more recent version of the update utility and download that. When i install it, it automatically uninstalls the old one but can't install itself since it can't see the asus motherboard. Right now, i'm stuck and don't know what to do. I was thinking maybe there's a way to manually flash the bios and downgrade it back. Not sure though... any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Specs:
Motherboard - ASUS P4P800-VM Motherboard
Memory - 1GB Ram
CPU - Intel P4 3ghz

Hi cawdz and welcome to DevShed.

When you flashed your BIOS the first time, did it ask you if you wanted to save the current BIOS ?
