Put together new comp but wont read HD
I just finished getting all my parts for my new computer.. I started with the motherboard which is an Asus SK8V for a 3200 AMD 64 proc.. i also got a hard drive that uses S-ATA to connect to motherboard.. its a new HD so i need to load an OS.. the problem is that when it boots up I get a message saying no HD detected.. what could be the problem?
I am familiar with using IDE to connect HD to motherboard.. am i missing an important step? Please help ![]() |

Have you looked in BIOS to see if you have it set to check SATA for a boot device?

Some SATA may require special jumper settings. Consult the manufacturer's Webpage.
