SATA Help

Hello, I have an ASUS P4S800D-E Deluxe motherboard as well as a western digital hard drive (not sata). Windows is already installed on this. My problem is that windows will not recognize the new Hitachi 180GB SATA drive I added. I tried booting with the windows cd hitting f6 with floppy, etc. and it partitions the drive fine. However, when I boot into windows (on original non-sata drive) it cannot find it. How do I solve this? Thanks in advance!

From experience twice now (once ABIT MOBO/P43.0c a year ago, once ASUS A8V Deluxe/Athlon 3800+ two days ago!) both with SATA disks (Intel system: RAID 0, AMD non-raid):

you MUST always load Sata drivers from floppy for Windows to recognize Sata disks... refer to your Mobo documentation (or online) for Mobo specifics on HOW...

Seems Windows just can figure SATA out...

good luck
