Sharp Laptop

I recently purchased a Sharp Laptop (PC-GP22W). It is acting very funny. When booting to DOS mode, I have FDisked the 40GB hard drive. When I reboot, to format, the partitioning does not hold. Additionally, if I attempt to boot with CD Rom support, the computer hangs while trying to initialize the CDRom DOS drivers.

Os

It had Windows XP on it. I purchased an aftermarket power supply for this unit. The "Juice" from Radio Shack. I took the laptop in and we plugged in the power and the system booted up. What I believe I have discovered (or was too ignorant to cross referance) is that the laptop requires 80 watts and the power supply was only capable of outputting 65 watts. I believe what I was experiencing was the laptop being power starved. I have an OEM power supply being delivered today. I will post back either way.

Thank You
