I have a slight problem with my one motherboard for my comp and hopefully someone can help. I have a computer with an ASUS CUV266 Mobo, ATI Radeon 9550 256MB, 1GB (2x256MB + 512MB DDR PC2100 RAM) and a 40GB HD, plus a P3 (1ghz). The problem is everything crashes on the computer. Firefox, Explorer.exe, Windows Media player, All games, Internet explorer, Everything just crashes. Even my computer. And sometimes while playing games, itll throw in the kernal error just for kicks. I have reformatted many a time to see if it would fix the problem, and no luck yet, so I know as a fact it is not a virus deal. I also tried with another harddrive (13GB) to see if the 40GB was just bad, and that wasnt the problem either. If anyone could help, I would very very much appreciate it. Thank you

did you check the system logs ?
are you sure you have all the correct (latest) drivers for the installed hardware? everything look ok in the device manager? if you are installing anti-virus software try omitting it on a clean installation |

Im not trying to install any antivirus or firewall, so theres no problem there. Its a fresh reinstallation of windows on that computer. All drivers are updated. In the system log viewer, there are only the errors of all explorer.exe, xfire.exe, and any other program i use that crashes. In device manager, everything is fine as well. The sad thing is, i dont even have to be on that comp, and explorer will be like "omg time to crash!" and yea. I looked in the bios tho. Under hardware monitor, there is:
MB Temp:33c CPU Temp: 35.5c JTPWR Temp: n/a Power fan speeds VCORE Voltage:1.77V +3.3V Voltage: 2.94V - its under its normal voltage. Its supposed to be above 3Volts. But it will hang at 2.99V. I think that might be part of the problem to everything crashing except the whole computer itself. There are 2 others, but they are fine (+5Voltage and +12 Voltage, but those 2 are just fine) |
