Strange MOBO action...

Hi,

I just today got my parts in from Newegg for a beautiful new setup. 320G HDD, 2 gigs of DDR2-800 RAM, Athlon 64 X2 5000+, and an Nvidia 7950, on an ASUS M2A-VM. Here's the problem. When I booted, everything was fine. No problems at all. But then I had to reboot after installing Windows, and on the reboot, my keyboard wouldn't respond. That was weird, so I rebooted, and both my keyboard and monitor had no connection. In addition, my case power lights were not functioning. I disconnected the HDD, and tried again, and the thing booted just fine. So I reconnected the HDD, and finished my Windows installation, but after rebooting several times, it did the same thing to me. I've tried disconnecting everything, and the case lights work, but the MOBO gives me a long beep and three short ones. Upon plugging stuff back in, it just does the same thing to me with no monitor or input devices, and a blank screen (no signal...not just gray).

Any thoughts? And please don't tell me I need a new motherboard...that would suck!!

Firstly, consult your motherboard manual for the beep codes, and this should point us in the right direction of what the cause is.
