Suggest new MOBO/CPU
I have a eMachines T3256. My house's power went off, then came back on the other day. Now, when I turn on the computer, the hard drive light comes on and stays on, the cooling fans work and that's all. The power switch on the front won't even turn it off. I have to unplug it. There is no POST beep or any indication that anything is happening. I've unplugged all cords from back, left the CMOS battery out for several hours, reseated the memory, removed the modem, still nothing. I don't have another CPU to stick in it.
Now I'm in the market for a new motherboard/CPU that will fit electronically & physically. Emachines wants 160.00 just for the MOBO. I don't do much gaming, limited budget. Any suggestions? |

well what socket and what type of RAM, you just need that info and use it to pick something off of newegg, from what i can tell that would be anything here
but before you go out and buy one, you might want to test the power supply and try using the CMOS jumper to clean it, removing the battery might not do it
