Where to connect ATX and ATX12V from power supply? And onboard sound help.
1) I have a power supply that has an ATX and an ATX_12V connector, should I connect both? My motherboard has both too! One's labeled ATX12V, the other one just ATX.
2) You know those mic/speaker cables that come with the case? If I have a separate sound card, should I still connect those to the motherboard? Or do they go into the soundcard somehow? (the soundcard is a Sound Blaster Audigy 7.1) The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L. |

1)Power supply has 2 connectors, mobo has 2 connectors, mobo manual tells you to connect 2 connectors on page 22...yep, I think you should connect both power connections!
2)Yep, connect to the motherboard. Don't forget to uninstall and deactivate the onboard sound before you install the new sound card.
