yes, you motherboard does suppport PCI-E cards, including the XFX 8600gt 1GB.

the DDR1 is only for the RAM you plug-in directly on the motherboard, not for the graphic card

how can you use '6200 256MB' now ?

you can use that card in a PCI-E x1 slot, but can't see any reason why you want to do it.

also, i don't think you have space enough when you have plugged-in the new card.

I had a GeForce 8800, and it fit fine (space wise).

I know when I upgraded to a 9800GTX, it fit, but was close as the thing was massive.

However, i ultimately got a custom case, so it doesnt even matter anymore.

my 8800 wasnt very big, single pci-e slot, skinny. fit fine.

my 9800gtx, was a double slot, with the enclosure for the fan and whatnot.
