How to determine type of motherboard

    Hi all,
I am new to computer building and I would like to have a question answered. Suppose I wanted to use a P3 motherboard how can I determine if what I am looking at is a P3 motherboard? When I did a search on line for P3 motherboards, among the many of the results that I got was MSI P35 NEO-F. Is it a P3 motherboard and if not how can I tell? Thank you so much for your help.

    Welcome to Dev Shed.

Go to the manufacturers website for the motherboard you're interested in, and view the specs. Under the specs for the motherboard, it'll list what is supported by that motherboard.

    Here's the motherboard you mentioned.

The specs show that it supports:
    Socket 775 for Intel Core2 Quad, Core2 Extreme, Core2 Duo, Pentium 4 (Prescott, P4EE), Pentium D, Pentium XE/Celeron D processors in LGA 775 package

Here's a google search for "P3 motherboard". There are quite a few you can look through.

Then you can also check out Pricewatch.... of course you'll have to filter your search for pentium 3's...
