    Reformat with mobo upgrade?

    Hey everyone. First thread here.

I plan on upgrading my motherboard, CPU and GPU. I don't plan on reformatting but read somewhere else that it is a good idea.

I just did a reformat about 5 months ago and would rather not do it again. Whats your thoughts on this?

Whenever you switch out the motherboard, it's a very good idea to format and reinstall. When an OS is installed on a machine, it installs drivers for that particular computer... the motherboard, chipset, etc. By using another motherboard with an old installation, it'll have drivers for components that aren't there, or the wrong drivers for certain components... This can easily cause all sorts of problems such as the BSOD.
