6 beeps (gate A20 error)
I have a 2 year old Dell that is very difficult to boot. It will usually beep 6 times, and then computer will power on (lights on, fan spinning) but sends nothing to the display. It takes about 10 tries to get it to successfully boot. For this motherboard, 6 beeps means a keyboard or Gate A20 keyboard controller error.
The keyboard works fine, and the computer will beep 6 times even with the keyboard disconnected, so it's probably the mobo.
Are there other possibilities I need to investigate, or should I just order a new mobo?
