calendar/schedule type info needed to be stored in databse

i need to create a page that displays the "schedule" of 3 people for the times that they will be in during the week...

i.e. user1 might be in on monday from 8-5, tues, 8-5, etc...

user2 might NOT be in on mon, but in on tues from 8-12 and 2-5, and so on..

can anyone give me some ideas how i should store this in a database.. should i try fitting everything inside one table?

any ideas please!

also, any suggestions on ways to display it? i was just going to display it just as text, but are there any neat was to show it, like as a table w/ different sizes depending on how long the hours are?
