ok i made an operational database on my computer and it works with my programming but i just purchased SQL server ability from my hosting company and they gave me a URL to which i must export my database to.
So how do i export my database to this URL? (ie. export my finished database to "sqdb.hoster.com" thx Last edited by pabloj : October 10th, 2004 at 09:55 AM. Reason: Added a descriptive subject |

Have you tried connecting to their db by the url (instead of by ip or machine name). The dns should resolve the ip from the url.
In enterprise manager, I have some some server connections listed by local mahcine name, some by ip, and some by url. |

You need to go to Client Network Utility located together with your SQL (from Start->Programs->MSSQL->Client Network Utility) and setup the Alias with your hosting company ip (given to you).
