    SSRS Multi-Value with Option = ''

I have created a report in SSRS.
In it, I have a multi-value parameter, namely Semester.
In this Semester parameter, Available values are taken from database, Default values are:

    SELECT DISTINCT [STUDYSEMESTERS] FROM [STUDENT]
    UNION
    SELECT '' AS STUDYSEMESTERS

In STUDENT table, I have several records with STUDYSEMESTERS = '' (blank).

I have set Semester parameter to allow blank.

Now, I want the report to show me records with Semester value = ''.

The report is run and show me error: Please select a value for the parameter [Semester].

In the Semester parameter, I have only one option selected, that is ''.

Can someone help me on how to work around this so that I can run the report with no problem even when I only select option ''?

    Thank you,
    Chiki

    Hi Chiki

When you have a multi-value option the query should go like this:
    STUDYSEMESTERS IN

    Hope this helps,

    Hi Paul,

Yes, I do have that in the main query of the report.
I just can't get the report to run.
Anyway, I have added dummy option: '-' and it seems to have solved the problem.

    Thank you,
    Chiki
