Unique values (except Null) in a non-unique column

We've have a couple of fields in our Database that must contain unique values. However, we also need to be able to have these fields set as null if no value has been set.
At the moment if you set the field so that values must be unique it only allows a single null value.

Does anyone know how I can get around this problem.

Tia,

Andy Jones.
