"You must upgrade..." error message in SQL Enterprise Manager
Hi all.
I have been using since a while the SQL Server Enterprise Manager with my MSSQL Server 2000 in my local xp machine. I installed both components from the same pack and have had no problems till yesterday. In trying to connect the server from the Enterprise Manager I get a "general OLE error 16386" with the message "you must upgrade sour SQL Enterprise Manager and SQL_DMO (SQLOLE) to SQL Server 2000 (SQLDMO) to connect to this server" as if my client had been somehow "downgraded" and can no longer access a newer server. The only reason I can think of (since I haven't reacently been doing anything "strange" with my server) is that I recently installed another database client and been doing some succesfull connection tries to the sql Server. I don't know if this can be the cause of the problem since I can no longer access the server with this second client either: the same error occurs.
Thanks in advance. Miki.
