AC97-3D Wavetable-NOT Recording

Using TeamSpeak. Every time I download a new driver or MS update my fellow gamers can no longer hear me but I can hear them. If I do an XP Sys.Restore to a date prior to the download, TS works again. I'm checking the usual options settings. Am I missing something?

I'm at work but will check when i get off. I do know when i pull up settings on TS it shows my onboard sound as Nvidia something something - 5.1. And is set on Direct? with an option of wave + it gives me an option to select Internal sound over the Nvidia, but if I chose only wave the only option is Nvidia. This whole computer was built in March of 2003 by ExtremeGear, I just told them what parts to put in it.

Cool C-Media AC97 Audio Device

Can anyone give me a hand, maybe a suggestion?? Any sound I get from my system is very "tinny". When I especially play any music files the instrumentals come in pretty decent most times but sometimes distorted, but the vocals you can barely hear or sound like your inside an empty bucket. I suspect it's the AC97 Device, but not sure...tried re-installing the drivers, downloading new/updated drivers, etc. I have a Celeron 1.7G, with an Asus MB. Been working great for awhile...but what the heck. I'd appreciate any suggestions or do ya think I need to just bite the bullet and get a new sound card.
Thanks for your help...Nightrat
