Anyone Built A Crysis Ready Computer?
I have been thinking about it but am stuck on a few things, and from what I have been reading so are some other people, one of my problems is the choice of an Nvidia or a GEForce card (high end of course) for crysis, each seem to have some pros and cons, but I dont want to give up either of their pros, any suggestions?

Nvidia is that company that make the GeForce cards, the alternative is ATI/AMD and theirs radeon cards.
AFAIK, Nvidia has the lead with best high end cards now. just remember that to get max setting in cysis you would need DX10 support which require Nvidias GF 8k-series card and vista. not sure which radeon cards support DX10. |

Yes I have
I can run Crysis on HIGH settings with my current hardware without lag or jitters in Windows XP Pro and XP 64.
I was able to run campaign mode in VERY HIGH in Crysis (and Vista Business) for about 10 min, but then ran into issues nVidia and EVGA could not rectify (See my post a few down from this one). I think I just had bad luck and got two deffective 8800's that have issues with nVidia's current drivers. During the time it was running - it was beautiful and I was running 30-40FPS in game at VERY HIGH settings. best bet would probably be a Core2 Duo mid to high, or OC. 2-4 GB ram, a HD3870 X2 or 2 8800's. 2 8800 GT would probably be best bang for the buck

There is no crysis ready machine at the moment, everything runs about 30fps on high or lower on dx10. Unless you want to get High-end SLI or triple SLI when you might do a bit better.
You could probably spend 2 or more grand on CPU,GPU,Mobo,RAM and it would play it very decently for today's standards. Get anything upwards of a nVidia Gefore 8800GT and you'll do pretty well.

I actually run higher (obviously) the lower the res, but still with my machine configured as it is above, here are the Crysis Benchmarks I got (I hope this helps). I run on HIGH settings, DX9 (Because I am running XP Pro right now, plus I dropped 2 GB of RAM before these tests and am running the RAM's 4-3-3-15 @2T speeds now).
If you build a similar system with similar components you should get similar results. Obviously better components will give you better results. You can download the Crysis Bencchmark Tool here: http://www.crymod.com/filebase.php?fileid=280 Here are my results - Pay close attention to 2 things: Resolution and Anti-Aliasing, two major taskings in these benchmarks. <><><><><><><><><><><><><>>--SUMMARY--<<><><><><><><><><><><><><> 2/12/2008 11:12:41 AM - XP Run #1- DX9 1280x1024 AA=4x, 32 bit test, Quality: High ~~ Overall Average FPS: 41.11 <><><><><><><><><><><><><>>--SUMMARY--<<><><><><><><><><><><><><> 2/12/2008 11:25:38 AM - XP Run #1- DX9 1400x1050 AA=4x, 32 bit test, Quality: High ~~ Last Average FPS: 30.42 <><><><><><><><><><><><><>>--SUMMARY--<<><><><><><><><><><><><><> 2/12/2008 11:28:48 AM - XP Run #1- DX9 1400x1050 AA=No AA, 32 bit test, Quality: High ~~ Last Average FPS: 32.19 |
