ati 9800SE very bad?
i have a radeon 9800SE 256MB 128-BIT graphic card, which i think is pretty good. I can play Half-life2 at 1024x768 with anisotropic filtering, and anti-aliasing, and it runs very smooth almost all the time.
Then i downloaded 3DMark05, and ran all the tests. It sucked!! framerate was between 1 and 7!! I got about 1100 3DMarks. Some people get like 8000 points i've seen, maybe not with my card, but is my card really as bad as 3dmark05 says it is?? |

If something works for your needs and wants, and you don't have a complaint, then it is good. Don't sweat the numbers if the performance during use meets or exceeds your expectations.

The 9800SE is not a very impressive video card. However, if it works for what you use it for, there's no reason to change. 3dmark also depends on the rest of your hardware, so low scores are not just due to the card. Again though, if you can play what you want at settings that make you happpy, dont worry about a thing. Benchmarks are not the goal, usable performance is.
